Renovated in 2014, it has 18 bedrooms, 4 kitchen stations, a dining area, laundry rooms, and a basement common space. It operates 24/7 to support families of sick or injured children receiving treatment.

  • Families interested in staying at Ronald McDonald House Charlottesville should speak with their hospital social worker or nurse. They will contact our team on the family’s behalf to discuss eligibility and current availability.

  • Please be aware that you do not have a reservation at Ronald McDonald House Charlottesville until we call you to confirm that a room is available. Check-in is between 1:00pm and 9:00pm daily and takes approximately 15-20 minutes. The check-in process includes:

    • Complete an Application for Admission.

    • Explanation of Policies (details provided below)

  • Compliance with House Policies is very important to your stay, as it helps to create a welcoming community environment. All guests are expected to follow these policies at all times. Our policies will be discussed with you upon arrival or you may contact the House Management Staff in advance.

  • A free UVA shuttle runs between the hospital and the House each day. During the week, this bus runs every half hour between 6:30am – 10pm. Please speak with a member of staff for further information regarding transportation. The Ronald McDonald House Charlottesville is located just a few blocks away from the University of Virginia Medical Center. Walking to the Medical Center takes approximately 5-7 minutes.
